Castle SCR is fortunate to be a popular choice for those looking to join a college Senior Common Room at Durham University.
As such we prioritise applications from those with an existing connection to Castle, those who live locally, and those who can make an exceptional contribution to our learning community
Applications are currently paused but will open again later in 2026
Applications will be reviewed twice a year and an invitation will follow for a conversation with an SCR member and the Principal or Vice Principal to get acquainted.
We look forward to welcoming colleagues who wish to actively engage with our multi-disciplinary, intergenerational learning community.
More Details
Following the initial conversation and, once all parties agree the SCR is right for you, we will send a Welcome to the Castle SCR email with the membership link, a link to the SCR Handbook, the event booking (eCommerce) instructions sheet and the name of your SCR ‘buddy/greeter’ to help get you started. With your consent we will also include you in a list of new members in the following weekly email to SCR members.
Cost
Upon first becoming a member of the SCR there is an initial £30 fee. This is then renewed annually in October for all members
