Purcell’s King Arthur

Upcoming concert in the Castle’s Great Hall on Thursday 7th May.
After evensong, at 8:30, Barney Howard will be conducting the Dunelm Consort and Players in a performance of Purcell’s opera King Arthur, which involves many of the chapel choir and college, including Sofia Lang, Tom Dowdeswell, Tom Parker, Oskar Herbert Young, Stellaria Ciampolini, Jonas Flohr, Olivia McClintock and Alan Erdelyi in the orchestra; Sofia Gironi, Hannah Mayes, Tom Good, Leo Khan, Joe Hornsby, Archie White and Matthew Dodd in the chorus, as well as many other players and singers from the university. The opera will also be narrated by Castle Alumnus Revd Canon Michael Hampel, and we’ll be performing an entirely brand new performance edition of the work, created over the past few months by Barney Howard and Iona Bastin.
